If your here reading this you ether know me or you are lost. Just kidding...sort of. Really I am just going to keep this blurb short about me so folks can get a general feel for who I am.

I live, work, and play in St. Petersburg, FL. I am married and have a son. I spend most of my time working. I like working on new things, especially software projects for small businesses. I know it sounds like some pitch but I honestly enjoy learning about a business and developing a solution for them. It is what I do. I started out just liking to write code and software, and then as my experience grew I had to learn about the details of each business process I was working on. It was not long before I began enjoying the learning about the business as much as the coding.
Many developers might spend their entire careers working for a handful of companies. Only learning a few business models and becoming experts in those areas. I have had the opportunity to work in many different businesses and learn from them all.
I have been working as a Developer fulltime since 1996. Before that I did do software development but it was mostly in addition to some other job. I was actually a Substance Abuse Counselor and doing Software Development on the side. It sounds crazy but at the time I just enjoyed working on the code. I was programming away in Basic and did not even think of it as something I could actually do and make money at. Then in the mid 90s it seemed like everyone was looking for someone with computer knowledge. If you knew the difference between a motherboard and cutting board you could get a job in IT. I took the leap and applied for a programming job. Best Career decision I ever made.
Today I am running my own software company, Techgrowth, Inc. I have been doing this fulltime for a few years and I love it. I write code and also manage programmers. I use off-shore and on-shore talent depending on the project. Most small projects I just do on my own. If work gets slow then I will just start working for someone else again but for now I am happy.
